Reiki FAQ's

Your Questions Answered

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a spiritual practice that promotes and restores balance and healing. Reiki is a safe and natural healing method that helps you to release energetic blockages to promote energetic, emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.

Reiki can be used to direct energy towards any aspect of your life that needs improving. That could include health, relationships, communication, or spiritual connection.

Benefits of Reiki include, but are not limited to: clearing energetic blockages, reducing levels of stress and anxiety, promoting calm healing energy within the body and spirit, assisting in centeredness and clarity of mind, healing and managing pain, improving mood and emotional well-being, enhancing sleep and rest, and strengthening peace of mind.

How does Reiki work?

We’re all made of energy. Energy creates form and matter. When you experience mental, emotional, or spiritual difficulties in life, this life energy gets blocked in your body. Reiki works by the channeling of energy from the practitioner’s hands into the client’s body and energy field.

Most disease starts at the emotional and mental level first and develops into physical pain or symptoms later when left untreated. Reiki releases blocks at these deeper energetic levels to promote healing.

Reiki encourages the release of tension, anxiety, fear and other negative emotions and experiences in the mind and body. This leads to relaxation and promotes the healthy functioning of cells, tissues, and organs.

How much does a Reiki session cost?

A Reiki session costs $175 and lasts between 60-90 minutes from start to finish. The treatment includes receiving the Reiki healing energy, a reading of your chakras (energy centers), a guided meditation, oracle card reading, sound healing, and an email recap within 48 hours after your session to share your readings and recommendations.

What can I expect during a Reiki session?

Reiki can be performed in person or through distance healing. In person, you will lay down while the Reiki practitioner places their hands on or near your body in a series of hand positions allowing the Reiki energy to flow. You can expect the whole session to last between 60-90 minutes.

During a Reiki treatment, most people experience feelings of deep relaxation. Many experience a sense of calm, peace, and experience physical sensations such as fluctuations in body temperature, tingling/vibrations, and visuals such as colors or other imagery. At the end of the treatment, you’ll feel refreshed, peaceful, and renewed.

How should I prepare?

  1. Make sure you eat before your session. Try to avoid eating a heavy meal right before your session, but make sure hunger doesn’t distract you. Be well hydrated and not hungry.

  2. Wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing.

  3. Refrain from consuming any alcohol and non-prescription drugs on the day of your session. This should also be avoided 24-48 hours after your session.

  4. Take some time to reflect before your session. Is there any intention you would like to set? Is there anything you'd like to discuss before beginning? Are there specific areas you’d like to focus on - in your physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual body?

  5. Optional: Some clients like to wear an eye-mask for in-person Reiki. One can be provided for you as an option, but you are also welcome to bring your own.

What should I do after?

  1. Make sure to drink plenty of water. After receiving energy healing, it is always important to hydrate.

  2. Reflect on the experience. Journal about any sensations, breakthroughs, thoughts, or other experiences you had.

  3. Read the recap email once you receive it to implement recommendations.

  4. If possible, take a nap or rest to maximize the healing benefits immediately after treatment.
